Nifty-Fifties Reunion Labor Day Weekend Planned
Representatives of Grafton High School and St. Augustine High School from the classes of 1950 through 1959 have completed plans for their reunion over Labor Day Weekend 2008. Registration information has been mailed to all alumni of record. Also, registration information can be obtained by writing to: Nifty-Fifties Reunion, PO Box 401, Grafton WV 26354-0401 or by calling (304) 265-5405.
The weekend will begin with a Warm-Up Party in the high school cafeteria on Friday, August 29th beginning at 5:30pm. A catered buffet will be served.
On Saturday morning at 10:00am, a guided tour of the high school will be provided by high school staff.
On Saturday afternoon and evening at 5:00pm classmates will meet at the Bridgeport Conference Center (Next to the Wingate Motel off Route 279) to have class photos taken. This will be followed by dinner and dancing.
On Sunday August 31st, individual classes have arranged class functions (picnics, breakfasts, lunches etc.).
The class representatives elected to lead the Planning Committee are: Harry Staley White, Jr. (GHS Class 1952) as the Committee Chairman. Also, elected are: Co-Chairman - Donna (Smith) Gallaher (GHS Class 1958); Secretary – Mary Alice Hawkins Hoskinson (GHS Class 1955); and Treasurer – John M. Keener (GHS Class 1952).
The following classes and individuals were appointed to assist with the reunion plans: Registration Packets - Class of 1952; Decorations - Violet Jacobs (Class of 1958); Warm-Up Party Arrangements - Donna Gallaher; Tables and Chairs - Dorsey Jacobs (Class of 1959); Saturday Morning Tour - Martha Bennett (Class of 1951); In Memory Coordinator – Mary Jane Armstrong (Class of 1957); Class Photos - Marsha Slaven (Class of 1950); Music and Sound – Eileen Smith Rhodes (Class of 1953); Banners and Signs -Tony Veltri (Class of 1955); Favors – Nancy Chrislip White (Class of 1951); and Publicity - Reunion Officers
